I received my official ranking after the oral board in early april and have since received nothing, i don't know the timeline to begin the next phase

Most of the time, you have to pick a single answer and fill in the bubble.
Just because E could encompass all the above answers, that is a single answer in and of itself.
If you chose A, B, C and D then that would be wrong. Those are 4 total answer...

The question actually asked, "What is one rold of the police department".
The answer E said all of the above. In my opinion, if you answered E, then you said all 4 (not one) answer were correct.

in response to what Pete said above; West Hartford's assistant chiefs interview (the oral board) is more like good cop/bad cop. The chief interview itself is more geared toward regular job interview questions.
